The European Commission presents in this Conference Report, the 2003 list of 100 Best Workplaces in the European Union and the Workplaces recognized by three Special Awards for excellence in the fields of Diversity, Gender Equality and Lifelong Learning. The workplaces are honoured for the quality of their workplace environments, as determined by a rigorous survey process analysing both corporate policies and employee judgements of their own organisations.

The survey process was conducted by Great Place to Work® Institute Europe, Great Place to Work® Institute Affiliates and our national research partners in 2002/2003. The report contains background information on how the research was conducted to compile the EU 100 Best list. Each of the 100 Best Workplaces in the European Union and the Special Award nominees are profiled.

"Management is extremely open and honest about goals, issues and methods employed for solving specific problems. Feedback is often solicited from employees. Suggestions are welcomed! It is often this "open communication" that makes it a great place to work."
