Special Awards 2004 : Pride

PRIDE is reflected in employee's sense of pride in their personal jobs; in the work that is produced by their own team; and in their organisation's corporate reputation, which is made up of its services and it's standing in the community

HEXAL specializes in the development, production and marketing of modern generic medications and innovative pharmaceutical preparations. 18 years after its foundation, the company is operating in over 40 countries with more than 5,900 employees worldwide. Nearly 1,200 employees are working at their 6 German sites. In relation to other participating companies, the Hexal company shows impressive results in the dimension of "Pride". Employees report, that their work is not only a job for them, but that they make a remarkable contribution to the society as a whole. The company supports a range of social projects in which employees are encouraged to volunteer. The company sponsors among others a children hospital in Olpe, Germany and has started the Germany-wide educational campaign "For a better future" to encourage more positive, supportive behaviour towards people with Down-syndrome.
